Setsuko is originally from Tokyo, Japan. She came to the United States as an exchange student when she was 16 years old. Setsuko lived with a family in Virginia for 3 years and finished high school there. After graduation, Setsuko went back to Japan and attended Dokkyo University, where she majored in German.
Setsuko returned to the United States in 2000 and relocated to Florida in 2003. She decided that she wanted to work with animals and enrolled at Daytona State College. She began working as a veterinary assistant in 2006 and became a valuable member of our team at Flagler Animal Hospital in 2012. Setsuko has a great sense of humor and makes the staff frequently laugh at her stories. Setsuko is very gentle with her approach to our patients and can quickly quiet a nervous cat. She loves being part of our team because of the common bond we all share of our love for animals.
Setsuko is married and has two children. She also has a dog, Chelsea, and two cats, Star and Ginger. When she is not working, Setsuko enjoys eating, drinking, shopping and redecorating her home.
