Megen was born in South Carolina, but has lived in Florida for 18 years. She has always had a love for animals. As a child, she had reptiles, hamsters, cats, dogs, birds, hermit crabs, cows, chickens and horses.
Megen has always been interested in science and the medical field. She started out working toward a degree in Marine Biology, but changed her mind and obtained a certificate in Phlebotomy. She later attended Ashworth University in Atlanta, Georgia and earned her certification as a Veterinary Assistant. During that time, she did volunteer work at a wildlife rescue and learned to take care of many different species, including lions, tigers, bobcats, farm animals and deer. Megen has a special love for marine life. She has been swimming with dolphins and giant stingrays in the islands, and she is fascinated by sharks.
Megen is married to her best friend of ten years, Jason, who is a corporate trainer for Chilis. They have a pitbull named King, a mix named Sammie and a gecko named Congo. Megen and Jason enjoy fishing, kayaking, traveling, antiquing, thrift shopping, movies, cooking and spending time with their big Puerto Rican and Italian family!
