Emergency Inpatient Assistant
Laura Airgood always knew what she wanted to be when she grew up. After graduating high school in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Laura enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program and graduated in 2012.
Laura performed her externship here at Flagler Animal Hospital. We were so impressed with her professionalism, knowledge and enthusiasm we hired her after she graduated from her veterinary technician program. Before attending veterinary technician school, Laura volunteered at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium.
Laura is a member of our overnight inpatient team, caring for hospitalized pets that are admitted during the night. Laura misses her dogs, Ellie and Brindi who are still residing with family back in Pittsburgh. She has a soft spot for beagles and hopes to have a herd of them someday!
Laura is also an avid sports fan. During football season, you can find her glued to her television watching the Steelers. She also cheers on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates. One of Laura’s favorite pass times is to get in her go kart and race! Yes, she has a need for speed! She is still on the hunt for a local track to tear up.
